The collection consists of seventeen clippings from magazines or newspapers, mostly poems by Jennie Betts Hartswick, with one obituary notice hand-dated 1939?; three handwritten drafts of poems, one on the verso of a letter; one prize announcement for an Atlantic Monthly review contest, with Jennie Betts Hartswick winning 2nd prize; thirteen typescript short stories, some with annotations, all with word count; two short stories extracted from magazines, including The Birthday (Delineator, Aug. 1903) and A Busy Morning (Success Magazine, Dec. 1905). The stories and poems are circa 1896-1905.
